Police Turn To High Schools To Solve Teen Murder

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - Metro Police announced Wednesday they have identified several possible suspects in the drive-by shooting that claimed the life of 16-year-old Loren Johnson.

Loren was hit by a stray bullet while reading a book in her bedroom.

Police said the North Nashville shooting was the result of an argument, and possible suspects are teenage gang members.

"We're convinced that the Nashville community including its young people will not stand for the cowardly and deliberate gun fire that claimed the life of Loren Johnson," said Metro police spokesman Don Aaron.

Authorities are asking all Metro high schools to make a special announcement urging students with information to come forward.

"We're hoping that as a result of today's announcement in high schools that they're going to be willing to pop out those cell phones and text us some things that they're hearing," said Aaron,

If you have information, call Crime Stoppers at 74-CRIME or just text the word *CASH* to 2-7-4-6-3-7.
