NASHVILLE- The BellSouth Building, one of Nashville's most recognizable buildings, is up for sale.
A New York investment firm, Cerebus Capital Management, acquired the 27-story tower in July and placed it on the market.
The BellSouth Building is the regional headquarters for the telephone giant. Local residents sometimes call it the "Batman Building" because its spires and dark colors resemble the mask worn by the fictitious crime fighter.
Pitney Bowes bought the building in 1994 for $100.8 million.
The building, which is on Commerce Street in downtown Nashville, is the state's tallest building.
It is near the Nashville Convention and Nashville's Lower Broadway, which includes the Gaylord Entertainment Center, the historic Ryman Auditorium and the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum.
