Pacman Faces Felony Charges In Georgia

Titan Adam Pacman Jones is trouble again. He was charged with two counts of obstruction of a police officer, a felony. The charges stem from last year in Georgia when officers stopped Pacman and two of his friends last year in Fayetteville, Ga., 20 miles south of Atlanta near his mother's home.

Reports indicated Pacman got out of his car, and a physical fight ensued between Pacman's group and a group of officers.

"He refused to speak with them, began cursing at officers," Lt. Beverly Trainer with the Fayetteville Police Department said. "The officer put his hands on him. He tried to pull away. Officers had to take him to the ground. We take it very seriously especially when it involves the safety of our officers."

Pacman could face some serious time for the charges. Each felony count comes with the possibility of at least a year in jail if convicted.

The Titans and the NFL may be forced to get involved due to the seriousness of the charge.

After the incident, officers executed a search warrant on his mother's home and found "marijuana in the basement" in a "jewelry box."

Authorities said Pacman's brand new Corvette reeked of "burnt marijuana" but told police at first he didn't smoke.

He then admitted to smoking all the way from Nashville to Fayetteville and when asked if he could pass a drug test "Jones replied that he would not right now but in a week or so he would be able to pass it."

Deputies recognizing the Titan reportedly asked him why he'd throw away his career on a little dope and he said "he would be ready to pass it when the NFL tests him."

Even Pacman's friend Darryl Moore heard about the incident and supposedly lectured Pacman and called another friend the morning after the arrest.

"Police kicked down Pacman's door in Atlanta. For them to kick his door in, trust me dude, that's bigger than that," Moore said.

Although police arrested Pacman and his two friends, Pacman's mother Deborah Jones and a friend took the blame for the drugs. They said it was their marijuana and the charges against Pacman were now dropped. His mother now faces probation, a fine and drug treatment.

"Pac got mad at me cause I was going off about s**t, but...I like "Dude I care about you dude...that s**t hits the f***ing papers that's ugly man,'" Moore said.

NFL rules require that the arrested player must tell the team and then the team is obliged to tell the NFL.

The NFL said they are now aware of the situation but have not commented on whether they were notified by the Titans.

Pacman will go to court for the felony charges in March.
