Pacman Assaulted At Bowling Alley

Police said Tennessee Titan Adam Pacman Jones was most recently in the spotlight as a victim. His supporters have always said he is just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Friday may have proven that trouble just seems to follow him. Jones was out bowling with friends and family at the Franklin Family Entertainment Center when investigators said a man pulled a knife on him and threatened him.

Detectives said Jones hadn't been there for more than 20 minutes when Clayton Smith allegedly approached him and said he was offended by a comment Jones made to his son.

"As far as I can see there was nothing Mr. Jones had done wrong," Franklin Police Department Detective Stephanie Cisco said.

Police reports showed that Smith had a knife and threatened Jones "saying he was going to gut him." He gave no reason to police except that "Jones needed to have his a** whooped for all that he had done."

Jones told detectives the incident "put him in fear of his life." He said he wanted to press charges, but the detectives advised him to wait until the next day to go before a magistrate since he smelled like alcohol.

Detectives insisted Jones was the victim and, as his lawyers have said before, he needs to be aware that he can be a target for trouble.

"There's got to be a level of maturity to realize that I'm a lightening rod. I'm a famous person, and if anything goes wrong within a two mile of radius of where I'm at obviously my name's going to come up, and he's got to recognize that," Jones' attorney Manubir  "Manny" Arora of Garland, Samuel and Loeb law firm in Atlanta said.

Smith was still in jail Monday. He was charged with aggravated assault.  Smith has previously been arrested for stalking, unlawful weapon possession and drug offenses.

Neither Smith nor his family were available for comment.
