Automotive Canine Mascot Dies

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- He's starred in television commercials for a decade.

Woody, a well-known chocolate Labrador and staple at Trickett Honda in Madison, died Thursday of liver cancer.

The canine mascot appeared in his first commercial as kind of an accident and it worked, said Woody's owner Reed Trickett, CEO of Trickett Honda, in an interview with NewsChannel 5 Thursday.

Woody was featured in commercials for years. He was a popular member of the family and at the car dealership, where he had his own timecard.

If anyone wants to honor the dog, Trickett asked that they do so by contributing to any Humane Association organization in Woody's name.
