Pacman Jones Drops Appeal

New York, New York- Tennessee Titans cornerback, Pacman Jones, met again Tuesday in New York City with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. After that meeting, Jones said he understands his obligations to the team and its fans.

"Last week I asked for an opportunity to speak privately with Commissioner Goodell. I met with him earlier today to tell him about the steps I have taken to change my life since being suspended from the National Football Leagure," Jones said in a press release.

Goodell suspended Jones in April after a series of off-the-field missteps. Police had interviewed Jones 10 times and arrested him five since he was drafted in 2005.

"I accept the discipline that has been imposed on me, and I told the Commissioner today that I am withdrawing my appeal. I understand my responsibilities to my teammates, the Tennessee Titans, and our fans, and I am committed to turning my life around and being a positive member of the NFL going forward."

Jones and his lawyers appealed the suspension on May 11, 2007, but announced Tuesday they had withdrawn the request. Jones' suspension could be reduced to 10 games if he meets all of the restrictions imposed by Goodell.
