Local Job Fair Attracts Hundreds of Job Seekers

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- There are companies out there hiring during these tough times. Job hunters found a career fair Tuesday with more than 200 employers.

Metro Public Schools, MTSU, and the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce put on the event at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds.

There were actually two fairs taking place: one for teacher recruits and one for students going from college to career.

More than 1,200 people showed up hoping to land a job.

"It's a very competitive job market, so they are showing up with resumes in hand dress to the nines and ready to interact with the employers," said Bill Fletcher, MTSU Career Development Center.
