CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. - Two people, including a Fort Campbell soldier, were put behind bars in a disturbing case of child abuse out of Clarksville.
Police charged Joseph Michael Smith and Michelle Douglas with aggravated neglect and endangerment. Douglas was also charged with accessory after the fact.
Wednesday, Clarksville police investigated allegations of abuse and found an 18-month-old child suffering from an untreated broken arm, broken ribs, bruises and burns.
Thursday, the child was hospitalized and both Smith and Douglas were in jail on $500,000 bond.
