Rep. Mark Maddox still in hospital in Martin

MARTIN, Tenn. (AP) - State Rep. Mark Maddox says his hospital stay is taking longer than he expected.

The Dresden Democrat entered Volunteer Community Hospital June 13 after complaining of severe stomach pain.

Maddox told WCMT Radio in Martin from his hospital room on Wednesday that he was diagnosed with pancreatitis - an inflammation of the pancreas.

Although Maddox missed the final week of the legislative session, he said he is pleased that his colleagues worked out an acceptable state budget.
