A little before 11 a.m., alarms sounded and a loud voice came over the intercom repeating, "A fire has been reported on your floor." Judges quickly released their courtrooms and employees calmly headed outside.
About 20 minutes after everyone made their way outside, the "all clear" was given around 11:10 a.m.
Firefighters had arrived on the scene quickly and discovered the source of the smoke. According to the Nashville Fire Department, a belt on the AC/heating unit on the roof overheated and started smoking.
