PORTLAND, Tenn.-  Kristen Hunter, 11, died this past spring from a frightening illness, "MRSA." Now her father wants to make certain someone is able to go to college since his little girl cannot.

"She was, like I said, the light of our lives," Scott Hunter explained.

Parents aren't supposed to bury their children, but at only 11 years old, Kristen Kay hunter,  the girl who loved everything was taken from her family in a flash by MRSA.

Her father describes flu-like symptoms.

The hunters took Kristen's story on Oprah. From there, they grew the Kristen Kay Hunter Foundation, a grassroots group, whose goal right now is to send two high school seniors to college, through scholarships.

Hunter is planning to grow that jackpot with an auction in two weeks from some of country's heavy hitters.

The family's making strict requirements about who goes to college in her name. Both scholarship winners must major in elementary education, since Kristen aspired to be a teacher.

Actor James Denton from "Desperate Housewives" will headline the celebrity auction in two weeks. For more information, or to make a donation in Kristen's memory click here.
