Kroger Pharmacy Robbery Suspect Dies In Custody

FRANKLIN, Tenn. - Williamson County officials were investigating Wednesday an inmate death at the county jail.

Demian Rivera died Tuesday at the hospital one day after being discovered unconscious in his cell.

Investigators said Rivera was alone in his cell and died of self-inflicted wounds, but no one would elaborate.

Rivera was accused of robbing the Franklin Kroger pharmacy in late October. Police shot Rivera during his getaway when he allegedly pulled a fake gun that police believed was real.

Wednesday morning Rivera's death was under investigation.
