POLK COUNTY, Tenn. - Two rockslides closed a major highway in Tennessee.
Officials were already on the scene of an early morning rockslide Tuesday in East Tennessee when the mountain collapsed – causing a second rockslide.
In just a matter of hours the rockslides closed Highway 64 in Polk County.
Fortunately, no one was hurt.
Tennessee Department of Transportation officials said the road was closed indefinitely, and it could take more than a week to clean up the mess due to several large boulders blocking the highway.
