Ky. police: Boy accidentally kills younger sister

BARBOURVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Police in eastern Kentucky are investigating the death of a 9-year-old girl who they say was accidentally shot by her older brother.

Kentucky State Police say the 12-year-old boy was cleaning a shotgun at a residence in the Cannon community of Knox County when the weapon fired Tuesday afternoon, hitting the girl as she watched television.

Police say the girl was taken to Knox General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
