Vanderbilt Steps Up Recycling Effort

Posted:

NASHVILLE, Tenn.- Vanderbilt University took one more step to help the environment. Starting Saturday, recycling will be offered at all Vanderbilt basketball games. The university launched a similar effort during football season and it was a huge success.

"We did have good response at the football games. We're hoping for a better response here at basketball. And that has to do with our fans have a lot of time, spending fun time together prior to a football game. So here at basketball we think that they're going to be even better because they're just drinking their beverage at the game. So they'll be able to put it into the container," said Vanderbilt Recycling Coordinator, Jennifer Hackett.

Plastic bottles, cups, and cardboard can be recycled at games. Fans can find the green bins on the concourse.
