Members of the Nashville Chapter of the Delta Sigma Theta sorority took part in the march along with other ladies from the community.
"This is a history lesson. It's a history lesson for young women and for older women who are not aware of the pain and suffering that many of our legislators suffered for voting for. But many of them don't recognize that if it weren't for Tennessee, we probably wouldn't have the right to vote right now," said Senator Thelma Harper, (D) Nashville.
Tennessee became the deciding vote back in 1920 that secured a woman's right to vote in America.
