Columbia Police Conduct Prostitution Sting

COLUMBIA, Tenn. – Undercover vice officers recently arrested eight women during a prostitution sting. Investigators said the women posted ads selling sex on "" which is an internet website. 

Undercover officers contacted ads and setup a meeting at an undisclosed Columbia hotel. Officers said the women arrived, offered sex for money and were arrested. 

Melanie Hurst, 33, of Columbia; Angel Toney, 33, of Franklin, KY; Ashley Vantrease, 24, of La Vergne; Natalie Demarini, 27, of Nashville; Hannah Cain, 34, of Gentry, AK; Betty Medlin, 25, of Memphis; Sarah Hill, 23, of Rockvalle, TN; and Deborah Baldwin, 39, of Midwest City, OK, each received various prostitution charges. Officers said each woman was working separately. 

Columbia Police have a message for those looking to sell sex in their city. 

"Don't come to Columbia looking to peddle your wares," said Sergeant Robin Howell. 

The sting came about when concerned citizens brought the issue to detectives. Officers said the sting is just one of many to come in the future.
