MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- Severe weather moved into West and Middle Tennessee Friday evening, bringing soaking rain, strong winds, hail, lightning and the threat of tornadoes.

No injuries or major property damage was reported.

The Coast Guard confirmed a tornado over the Mississippi River late Friday afternoon near Dyer County.

There were unconfirmed reports of twisters elsewhere, including Carroll County.

Much of West Tennessee and parts of western Middle Tennessee were under National Weather Service warnings for bad weather as the storm cut across the state.

In Memphis, people got soaked waiting to get into Friday night's Memphis in May concert at Tom Lee Park on the Mississippi River bank.

The severe weather passed and the music was scheduled to start as planned.

In Carroll County, Fire Chief Terry Carroll reported trees were toppled, indicating there could have been a tornado touchdown.

In Nashville, vendors at a crafts fair packed up about an hour early as bad weather approached.
