
DAVIDSON COUNTY
Metro police are investigating a murder that happened on Herman Street Wednesday night. One person was found dead in the laundry room of a housing development. A second victim was taken to the hospital. There is no word on suspects or a motive.
COFFEE COUNTY
A convicted felon-turned-fugitive is vowing not to be taken alive. Police in Manchester and Coffee County want to capture Danny Lee Byrom. Out of prison roughly a year, Byrom is wanted for violation of parole. He is suspected of beating his father nearly to death a week ago. Manchester police said Byrom also stole his dad's car and three weapons from the house. Police said he's armed and dangerous, and could be hiding out in the Nashville area.
FRANKLIN COUNTY
Several months after federal agents stormed his business, a Middle Tennessee man was arrested Wednesday. Ben Elliot was accused of using an advertising company he ran to steal $30 million from car dealership clients. Elliot was arrested for 21 counts of conspiracy to commit mail and wire fraud. In March, his Elk River Printing company was raided by the FBI and U.S. postal inspector agents. More than one state's Automobile Dealers Association has issued a scam alert alleging Elliot's mailing and advertising company is involved in accessing his client's accounts and stealing money.
MAURY COUNTY
A fire tore through a home and caused the first floor to collapse on top of a man. When firefighters arrived at the home on Lyon Street in Columbia early Wednesday morning, family members told them there was a man inside. Crews found his body Wednesday afternoon. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
