Cold, Snow Chasing Heavy Rain Across Tenn.

Posted:

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - As heavy rainstorms blow eastward across Tennessee, a cold front is poised to end February with a chance of snow.

Hard downpours dumped 2.2 inches of rain on Nolensville early Friday, said National Weather Service forecaster Mark Rose. Franklin got 1.72 inches and Dickson received 1.08 inches.

By midmorning, the storms were moving across the Cumberland Plateau and covering virtually all of East Tennessee.

Forecasters said sharply colder weather will end February with a 60 percent chance of snow in the Memphis and Nashville areas Saturday night. A mixture of rain and snow is likely in eastern Tennessee locations.
