An early-morning pursuit broke out after an armed robbery was reported in Nashville.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said the ordeal began after a masked gunman walked into a Delta Express on Old Hickory Boulevard in Hermitage and demanded money.

The incident happened around 12:30 a.m. Monday. Police said the robber left the store and got into the passenger seat of a gold Jeep Grand Cherokee.

An officer spotted the SUV, and tried to stop it but the suspects fled. The pursuit continued on Dickerson Pike, Ellington Parkway, and Broadmoor Drive.

Once they got to Broadmoor, police think the suspects threw something out of the window.

However, officers weren't able to find anything. Eventually, they stopped the chase.

According to investigators, the vehicle was taken during a carjacking Friday night in the Midtown area and used in a robbery on Sunday.

Anyone with information should call Metro Police at 615-74-CRIME.
