The regional Crossfit games are expected to bring hundreds of the region's best athletes to Music City on Memorial Day weekend.

The competition consists of 30 six-person teams that have won their right to be at regionals. One of them is a local team from Hendersonville.

"This is a competition for the fittest man, woman, team in our case, all over the world people compete in high intensity, flexibility movements - for fun too!" said Lindsey McDuffie.

"What about the team? Three girls. Three guys - all coming together, hoping to be the best we can be," said Josie Parsons.

Crossfits are located all over the world, and close to 400,000 people tried out for the regional competition. Only the best make it, and only the best move on from here. It's fierce competition that began through working out.

It is a training modality that has been established by Greg Glassman, our founder, and we've been around for about 15 years now," said John McLaughlin.

The team from Hendersonville has done well so far, and if they keep up the success, they'll go on to the international competition at the end of next month.

The competition runs through Sunday at the Music City Center.
