Grundy County Man Indicted In Wife's Murder

A Grundy County man has been indicted in connection to his wife’s murder.

Officials with the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation said 29-year-old Daniel Chandler has been charged in the 2016 murder of his wife, 26-year-old Samantha Chandler.

The joint investigation was conducted by the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office and special agents with the TBI.

Samantha’s body was found on May 1, 2016 off of Ross Creek Road in Gruetli-Laager.

Monday, a Grundy County Grand Jury was presented facts by authorities that led to the indictment of Daniel Chandler.

He was charged with one count of first degree murder, and authorities in Walker County, Alabama took him into custody without incident on Tuesday afternoon. He was awaiting extradition to Tennessee.
