Homes, Vehicles Damaged In Severe Storms

Severe thunderstorms brought strong winds and hail to Middle Tennessee, damaging vehicles and homes.

A line of severe weather began moving through the western part of the region around 2 p.m. Henry County saw a significant amount of hail during the storm.

A brief Tornado Warning was issued in Hopkins and Christian Counties until 3:15 p.m.

The storms moved into Davidson County around 3:30 p.m. Strong winds brought down a massive tree in the West End of Nashville.

Another large tree limb fell on a moving vehicle on Hobbs Road in Green Hills near Julia Green Elementary. No injuries were reported.

A hanger at the Smyrna Airport was damaged during the storms. Part of the roof and the siding was blown off. However, no planes were damaged.

A second round of storms and Tornado Warnings were issued around 6 p.m.

At one point, more than 1,000 outages were reported for both Nashville Electric Service and Cumberland Electric Membership Corporation.
