For the first time in 150 years, Jack Daniel's has opened a store outside of Lynchburg, Tennessee.

The Jack Daniel's General Store in Marathon Village opened on Tuesday in Nashville, and while the store sells no liquor, it sells plenty of Jack Daniel's merchandise and gives customers a Lynchburg experience by providing them with the history of the distillery and information about how the whiskey is made.

"We get about 275,000 visitors that come see us every year, and there's certainly a lot more people in this world, and we'd like to take Lynchburg to them," Dave Stang, director of events and sponsorships for Jack Daniel's, said.

Jack Daniel's is the most recent store to move into Marathon Village, which over the past decade has seen tremendous growth, thanks in part to Antique Archeology, the store that inspired the show American Pickers.

"We're lucky we're in a city that's popular right now," Matt Springer, manager at Antique Archeology, said. "It's not just our show, w'ere in a destination that everyone wants to go to."

Many of the stores in Marathon Village, including Antique Archeology, hope that Marathon Village will continue to grow with the help of Jack Daniel's.

"That's a mega brand," Springer explained. "We think that our brand is great, but Jack Daniel's, that's worldwide."
Jack Daniel's has already helped bring business to other stores in Marathon Village.

"There are a lot of businesses in this building, so it's nice to have them come through and see all the local shops as well," Jon Rizzo, marketing director at Vincent Peach, said of Jack Daniel's entering Marathon Village.

Vincent Peach opened their flagship store in Marathon Village earlier this year, and the business that manufactures their products in Nashville and sells them all over the world said that Nashville, and specifically Marathon Village is an exciting place to be.

"It's beautiful to see, Nashville's growing so much and it's nice to see that this area is really taking a big part of it," Rizzo said.

Coming soon to Marathon Village are a Harley Davidson store, a comedy club, and a new bar, adding to the businesses already making Marathon Village a staple of Nashville.

The Jack Daniel's General Store in Marathon Village is open 7 days a week, all year.
