Tennessee's chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society hosted the 18th annual walk at Nissan Stadium to honor those who have died from the disease, recognize survivors while raising money to beat cancer.

It's an opportunity to bring positivity to those who've battled either disease.

"When someone hears the words 'you've got cancer,' it is one of the darkest moments in their life. So our goal is to try to make some light so that that darkness is not nearly as scary for them...that there's hope that they can overcome," said Debbie Hooper.

The event featured a remembrance pavilion, circle of survivors and fireworks show after participants took the 1-point-7 mile walk around the city.
