3 Sought After Robbery Turns Into Homicide

Police in Bowling Green, Kentucky confirmed they’re searching for three suspects after a robbery turned into  homicide.

The incident happened just after 3 p.m. Friday at the La Placita market in the 700 block of Morgantown Road. Police confirmed they do believe there could be ties to Nashville in this case.

When police responded on a call of a robbery and a shooting, they found 31-year-old Jose Cruz outside the business with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital where he died.

According to witnesses, two men went into the store. They displayed a gun and demanded money.

The shooting took place just after the robbery; however, police said they’re withholding information as far as how it took place.

A woman was also injured in the incident. Her identity was not released.

Reports stated police have been searching for three Hispanic suspects. Two of them were believed to be in their late 20s or early 30s, and the third was believed to be their driver.

One of the men who went into the store was wearing a hooded sweatshirt with a logo on the back, as well as a hat with a logo. The other suspect was wearing a camouflage hooded jacket.
