Thousands rang in the Christmas season downtown with a tree lighting.
A Bellevue couple donated the 35 foot tall Norwegian Spruce. It has about six-thousand lights on it.
The event kicked off Friday evening at 6 p.m. with several performances from choirs.
Mayor Megan Barry said the tree almost didn't survive the flood back in 2010, but six years later it's standing tall downtown.
