NASHVILLE, Tenn. - An employee who attempted to stop an armed suspect was shot in the shoulder.
Officials said the incident happened at the Little Barn Market in the 3000 block of Brick Church Pike.
The male suspect, described to be around 15 to 25 years old, went into the store and took a beer from the cooler.
Reports stated he acted as if he was going to pay for the beer, but instead, he pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money.
Authorities said an employee who witnessed the crime tried to gain control of the suspect, but the man was able to fire a shot, hitting the employee in the shoulder.
The suspect fled from the scene on foot. Reports said the employee had non-life threatening injuries.
The investigation remained ongoing.
