A man was arrested for a DUI with a 9-year-old asleep in the vehicle.
The incident happened in Clarksville around 2:24 a.m. Wednesday when someone called 911 about a possible road rage situation.
The caller said a driver was speeding, almost hitting another vehicle, in the area of Interstate 24 and Rossview Road.
Police were able to find the driver in a business parking lot in the 600 block of Rossview Road. They identified the driver as 31-year-old Mario Scott.
The officer noticed Scott had slurred speech, bloodshot eyes, and the smell of alcohol.
Scott was taken into custody after he underwent standardized field sobriety tests.
Authorities said a 9-year-old was found asleep inside the vehicle. Reports stated they also found an open alcohol container.
Both the child and vehicle were placed with a relative.
Scott was charged with child abuse and neglect, DUI, compliance with financial responsibility (insurance), and open container.
He was being held in the Montgomery County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
