A man was killed in Putnam County when he was hit by a train.
The incident happened between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m. Wednesday as the man was walking down the train tracks by Woodcliff Road near the intersection of Grant Lane.
Officials identified the victim as 37-year-old Jesse Harold Cooper, of Putnam County. Cooper died at the scene.
Authorities said medical crews made several attempts to help Cooper; however, they were not able to revive him.
The incident remained under investigation.
