Police in Clarksville have been searching for a suspect accused of impersonating an officer.

Authorities said they’re looking for 42-year-old Jerry Lee Ballesteros, of Clarksville.

According to reports, Ballesteros contacted three Enterprise car rental businesses in Clarksville on September 9 and identified himself as Lieutenant Davis of the Hopkinsville Police Department.

Officials said Ballesteros was trying to take donations that were allegedly meant for the Fraternal Order of Police.

According to a detective with the Hopkinsville Police Department, they do not have a Lieutenant Davis in their department.

They also confirmed Ballesteros has no affiliation with the FOP.

A warrant has been secured on Ballesteros charging him with criminal impersonation.

It’s believed Ballesteros may be driving a black Chevrolet Silverado.

Anyone with information on Ballesteros’ whereabouts has been asked to call Detective Lockerman at 931-648-0656, ext. 5299, or the Crime Stoppers TIPS Hotline at 931-645-TIPS (931-645-8477).
