As Nashville has continued to gain more than 30,000 new residents a year, the price to rent a place to call home has also been growing.

Apartment List released its annual National Rent Report Sunday, and it showed rental properties in Nashville cost six-percent more than this same time last year.

According to the report, on average people have been paying more than $1,000 a month for a one bedroom apartment and more than $1,300 a month for two bedrooms.

Reports said that may be due to the migration of millennials from pricier cities.
