Authorities in both Stewart and Montgomery Counties said they're investigating a possible murder/suicide situation involving a husband and wife.

Officials in Stewart County said they responded to a home after someone asked for a welfare check for a female who lived there around 5 p.m. Friday. A Montgomery County official identified the woman as 55-year-old Patricia Ann Kennedy.

They found Patricia dead inside the home in the 100 block of Cedar Point Road around 6:30 p.m. Friday from what appeared to be a homicide.

Her husband, 57-year-old Ronald Anthony Kennedy, was identified as a person of interest. Authorities said he was found dead in Montgomery County in the 2600 block of St. Paul Road at 7:25 p.m. Friday from what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Reports stated the two were found dead at properties they owned.

The couple owned Kennedy Portable Toilets, with offices in Woodlawn, Clarksville, and Nashville. Patricia was listed as the company's president, Ronald as the Vice President, and their son, Corey, has served as Operations Manager.

According to a Montgomery County official, Ronald had called one of his employees and said he had killed his wife and planned to kill himself.

The investigation remained ongoing by the two agencies and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. Further details had not yet been released.
