A Smyrna photographer remembered 9/11 by taking pictures of police officers and their families for free.
Cilene Bosch has been a photographer for more than 20 years and wanted to honor members of law enforcement through a police photo appreciation day.
"They sacrifice their families for our families," Bosch told NewsChannel 5. "I felt that it was time someone showed we cared."
More than 40 families got their pictures taken at Gravel Road Traditions in Mt. Juliet.
Officers such as Austin Childress of the Metro Nashville Police Department and his wife and two young kids took their first family photo because of Bosch.
"It does excite me that people actually care," Officer Childress said. "My heart is warm because people are actually serving."
Bosch also wanted the photo shoot on the weekend of the 15th anniversary of 9/11 to remember the victims and sacrifices made during the fateful day.
"I felt it was important to stand up during a time when police really stood up," Bosch added.
The Mid Cumberland Young Marines were also there to perform a color guard ceremony and lead a prayer and moment of silence.
Bosch has planned to host the same event next year.
