A stabbing victim was able to walk to a local Walmart for help after he was injured during an attempted robbery.

Officials with Metro Nashville Police said they believe the incident may have happened under a bridge between a Walmart and a laundromat on Nolensville Pike.

The victim told officers that he was stabbed in his side during an attempted robbery. From there, he reportedly walked to the store and asked employees for help.

Police said they could be looking for a suspect who was described by the victim as a white man with a ponytail. The suspect may have been driving a silver or grey Ford Mustang.

The victim told officers the suspect approached him, demanded his belongings and then stabbed him when he said he didn't have anything.

According to police, the victim was a bit incoherent due to the pain so they'll follow up with him at the hospital.

Investigators were working to review surveillance footage from the store.
