A situation involving a barricaded subject has ended in Mt. Juliet.

Mt. Juliet Police said the incident began around 4:30 a.m. Thursday on Edinburg Street in the Hickory Hills neighborhood.

The emergency communications center first received a call about residents yelling in the streets. Apparently a woman was threatening to harm herself and barricaded herself inside the home.

Police said no one else was in the residence.

A negotiator was able to make contact with her, and she later met officers at the front door, Lt. Tyler Chandler said.

"Thankfully, no one was harmed during this incident, and the woman will be receiving the care she needs," he added in a statement.

Neighbors were made aware of the situation. A few streets in the area were blocked while police remained on scene.
