A man has been charged in connection with an attempted kidnapping at a car wash in Bowling Green.

The incident was reported on October 17 at a business on Gordon Avenue.

Police said the victim was washing her car when a man approached and asked how much it cost to wash his car. He went to the change machine before approaching her again.

At that time, police said he punched her in the head and tried to pull her away from her car as she was falling.

She was able to flee and run towards another customer.

The suspect left in his vehicle, a white GMC Acadia. The SUV was later spotted at a convenience store on Gordon Avenue.

Officers ran the license plate and 59-year-old John McDaniel, of Morgantown, was identified as a suspect.

Warrants were issued, charging him with the attempted abduction, along with a traffic and drug charge.

A Kentucky State trooper pulled him over Monday night and McDaniel was taken into custody without incident.

He was taken to a medical facility in Madisonville for unrelated health issues. Once released, he’ll be brought back to Warren County.
