A 42-year-old man has pleaded guilty to raping a 6-year-old girl in Lebanon.
Lebanon police said Edwin Alfredo Velasquez-Curuchiche pleaded guilty on Monday to two counts of rape of a child. He received 25 years on each count at 100 percent, which will run consecutive with each other for a total of 50 years.
Back in October, police were called to a family’s home in Weatherly Estates in response to a possible kidnapping.
Velasquez-Curuchiche, whom police said is an undocumented immigrant, had befriended a local family and used fraud to get a key to the victim’s home.
Police said the family did not know he had made this key at that time.
According to officials, Velasquez-Curuchiche snuck in to the home after everyone was asleep on two occasions and raped a girl who lived at the home.
The family found him in the home on his second entry and called police. He’s been in custody since the date of the initial report.
His sentence will be served concurrently with the 50-year federal sentence he received earlier this year in Federal Court for production of child pornography, which resulted from the same incident.
Police said this case was a joint investigation with the Department of Homeland Security. Velasquez- Curuchiche was serving his federal sentence by DHS when he entered his guilty plea.
