A manhunt got underway Monday in Millersville after an officer was assaulted during a traffic stop.

The search for Terrell Stevenson continued Tuesday after an alleged assault involving a police officer.

Police said the officer conducted a traffic stop at a Shell station located at 1206 Louisville Highway around 8:40 a.m. At some point, the suspect reportedly tried to run, at which point the officer grabbed him.

Stevenson allegedly made made a move like he was reaching in his waistband for his gun. The officer backed off and called for help.

Stevenson was able to escape. His girlfriend was apparently in the car with him and was taken into custody.

They started searching an area extending from the police department all the way to the interstate at exit 98.

Stevenson was described as being 6-feet tall and weighs around 206 pounds. He reportedly has active warrants out in the Metro Nashville area.

Millersville Police called citizens Monday, saying they don't think he's in the area anymore. He could be in the Madison area, but authorities are warning everyone to be on the lookout for him.
