An 18-year-old who was missing for a total of 11 days was found in the Smokies.

The teen, who is from Blount County, was found Tuesday afternoon when he walked out of the park, according to a park official.

According to WVLT Local 8 News, 18-year-old Austin Bohanan walked out of the remote backcountry area near Tabcat Creek in Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Park spokeswoman Dana Soehn said he was transported by Rural Metro to Blount Memorial Hospital in Maryville.

Bohanan originally was reported missing Aug. 13, and reportedly was last seen hiking off-trail Aug. 11.

"He went into the woods with someone, and they got separated, and he never did come out," Austin's great-uncle Bob Dixon said last week. "That's all basically we know."

Park officials at one point in the past week and a half had up to 7 crews of almost almost 300 rescuers searching remote backwoods areas of the the Smokies for Bohanan.
