Many families have a lot to be thankful for this holiday, and for one Nashville mother, that included celebrating with a son she thought she'd never see again.

Nancy Anderson met her son for the first time in Arizona last December.

More than four decades earlier, she traveled from Nashville to Phoenix to carry her baby to term and placed him up for adoption.

She had little hope of meeting him again since it was a closed adoption.

Around 45 years later, Nancy's daughter sent DNA samples to Ancestry.com.

It turned out the brother she never knew did the same thing, and they were able to connect.

Since the reunion last year, the son, Jim Dwyer, arrived in Nashville for the first time on Wednesday. He came into town to spend Thanksgiving with his family.
