The Music City Star hosted an emergency drill on Thursday, including a mock fire and suspicious package on board the train.

The area's only commuter train brings about 1,000 commuters to the train station in Nashville from Wilson County and Donelson every day.

This disaster drill was meant to refresh the safety training for all of the departments that would help in a real-life emergency.

That means a multi-agency team of state and local law enforcement, emergency response crews, healthcare providers, and operations management teams.

Those who took part say they need to be ready for anything from a crash to a terrorist attack. Though there are no current threats against the Music City Star.

In an emergency, those responders have the task of moving a large number of people while working a mass-casualty incident, providing emergency medical services, and preserving evidence for a criminal investigation.

Incidents are rare but they do happen.

Just last month, a pedestrian was struck and killed by one of the trains in Donelson.
