Four juveniles allegedly stole a car in Antioch and crashed into a police vehicle.

Police on the scene early Saturday morning said the juvenile behind the wheel hit a Belle Meade police car just off Harding Pike at the entrance to Saint Thomas West Hospital.

The incident reportedly began as a pursuit after officers tried to pull the vehicle over for going 60 miles per hour in a 40 miles per hour zone.

Authorities said the crash appeared to be intentional. They added it looked as if the driver aimed for the officer. The police vehicle was not majorly damaged.

After the wreck, the four juveniles took off on foot. At least one 17-year-old female who was in the car at the time was taken into custody. Authorities confirmed she was not the driver. They added they've identified at least one of the other three juveniles.

Police also found a handgun at the scene. Reports stated officers saw one of the juveniles holding the gun as he fled. The juvenile did not point the gun at anyone, and authorities said they believe it's the same gun they recovered. The female in custody confirmed one of the juveniles had a gun.

K-9 officers were out patrolling the woods near the hospital but were not able to pick up a scent.

The officer involved in the crash was expected to be okay.
