Investigators confirmed they have identified the suspect wanted for allegedly assaulting and kidnapping a woman at the Portland Court Apartments in Davidson County.

The suspect has now been identified as 31-year-old Jason Jarrell Williams. He has been charged with especially aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping, and aggravated robbery.

Authorities said Williams may be homeless, but he has been known to frequent the Belmont/Vanderbilt/West End Avenue areas, as well as the Nolensville Pike/McIver Street area in Woodbine.

Detectives from the Metro Nashville Police Department were called out to the apartment complex at 1705 Portland Avenue near Belmont University early Monday morning.

A preliminary investigation showed the 25-year-old woman was awoken by a man with a sharp object, which police said they believed was a razor blade.

Williams allegedly sexually assaulted and cut the woman before ordering her to drive him to an ATM on 21st Avenue.

Once there, she said the Williams forced her to withdraw money around 5:12 a.m., and then drove him to South Nashville, dropping him off at McIver Street.

Officials said the woman then reported she contacted 911 emergency dispatchers around 5:50 a.m. after he got out of the vehicle before heading back to her apartment.

Williams was last known to be wearing a red letterman-type jacket with white sleeves, blue jeans, and red shoes.

There were no signs of forced entry, but officials said the door to the victim's apartment may have been unlocked.

Williams has been accused of cutting the victim before repeatedly sexually assaulting her.

Officials said she received medical treatment at Nashville General Hospital, but she was expected to be okay.

Authorities said they've been searching through surveillance footage from the ATM to gather additional evidence.

They have also determined Williams may be the same suspect sought by Vanderbilt University Police for stealing a backpack that was unattended from the lobby of Wilson Hall on campus on Wednesday. Reports stated he was seen sleeping in the lobby just before the theft.

Anyone with information on Williams' whereabouts has been urged to call Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463 or the Emergency Communications Center at 615-862-8600.
