Investigators with the Franklin Police Department have asked for the public's help finding a con coin collector.
The suspect caught on surveillance video is wanted for swindling a local collector of rare coins out of $26,000.
The two met at a Franklin restaurant on August 12. after the victim placed an ad on Craig’s List offering to buy gold coins.
The victim ran a series of authenticity tests on the coins brought by the suspect before agreeing to buy them. The victim told police that while he was counting the cash to give him, the suspect switched them with fakes.
Their worth was estimated at more than $26,000 in cash.
