The Nashville Predators are headed to the Stanley Cup Final for the first time in team history after defeating the Anaheim Ducks 6-3 to win their best-of-seven series 4-2.

The Predators, battling significant injuries in this series, improved to 7-1 at home this postseason, and have won 11 of their last 12 home playoff games backed by the loudest crowd in the NHL.

Those gold clad fans were in full force right from the start of game six, the biggest postseason sporting event ever contested in the city of Nashville.

The win sparked an immediate celebration inside the arena that quickly spilled out to lower Broadway.

In 18 seasons since the team made it's expansion debut in 1998, the Predators had never made it past the second round of the playoffs. Now they stand four wins from hoisting the Stanley Cup.

The Predators will now meet the Eastern Conference champion in the Stanley Cup Final beginning next Monday in either Pittsburgh or Ottawa. The defending champion Penguins lead that series 3-2 and will look to close it out Tuesday in Ottawa.
