A 16-year-old and a 10-year-old were hurt after their truck left the roadway and struck a tree in Maury County.

The wreck happened around 7 a.m. Tuesday on Jimmy Gray Robinson Road off Williamsport Pike in Williamsport, about 20 minutes northwest of Columbia.

Officials said the driver attempted to negotiate a curve and ran off the side of the road. The truck overcorrected, where it struck an embankment before eventually hitting a tree.

The vehicle came to rest with the front of the truck straight up in the air.

The teenager was ejected and was taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, while the younger child was airlifted to Vanderbilt.

Both reportedly suffered non-life threatening injuries.
