Teen Honored After Saving Stranger's Life

MT. JULIET, Tenn. - A Wilson County teen was recognized by Mt. Juliet Police for his quick actions that saved a stranger's life.

Kyle Shaw,18, is a student at Wilson Co. High School. On August 9, Kyle spotted a man sitting on the edge of an overpass who was about to jump. He stopped his car and pulled the man off the bridge, saving his life.

Kyle received the Exceptional Citizen Award for his actions that day.

"He could have pulled me off with him. All I was thinking about was saving his life, but he could've pulled me off. It made me nervous but good after that happened," said Kyle.

The police department said the man Kyle saved was taken to a facility for treatment and has been doing well.
