Volunteers will fry hundreds of turkeys Tuesday to help those in need in Middle Tennessee over the Thanksgiving holiday.

This marks the 13th annual Tracy Lawrence Mission Possible Turkey Fry.

Volunteers began frying 500 turkeys at 9 a.m. They got an early start by cooking up chicken, ribs and all sorts of other meats as part of the yearly tradition.

Battling homelessness is something close to Tracy Lawrence and his wife's heart and they wanted to do their part to help.

In the 13 years since the turkey fry began, they've fried almost 5,000 turkeys – that’s almost 50,000 meals to help the Rescue Mission feed the homeless in Middle Tennessee.

A benefit concert at will be held at the Wildhorse Saloon, located in downtown Nashville, beginning at 7 p.m.

These turkeys will go to their meal service for the next two days, with the first meal being served at noon Wednesday.
